The internet is crowded with people who, between crying jags, have found T W Jackson’s e-book the magic of making up
, bought it, and put its advice into effect. The messages and blogs left by these people range from a simple four-word message: “I got my ex back!” to eloquent paeans of gratitude.
The book, even with personal email advice from Jackson should you need it, cannot really bring about its promised miracle without a certain amount of work from the user. In addition, a lot of this work is in the area of making changes in themselves, of creating a “new you” that can make a romance work. Bad behaviors, jealousy, unfaithfulness, and selfishness: all must be abandoned in the quest for a renewed love affair.
If the system has failed some users they are not complaining, perhaps because they are aware their own lack of effort was to blame. Some bloggers report they did not manage to win back their love, but that they are still at peace and have no regrets. That is success of a kind.
